My photography journey started before digital cameras became the norm, social media was the priority and the convenience of an editing button in Lightroom. It began in a high school darkroom, where I learned the art of developing film and making prints by hand. There was something special about watching an image slowly appear on photographic paper—and that early experience taught me that photography is more than simply taking a picture. It’s about patience, creativity, timing, and telling a story.
That passion eventually became a career. I went on to manage the Northeast Ohio district for Olan Mills, one of the nation’s largest portrait studio chains back in the day. Managing studios, photographers, clients, and the fast-paced world of professional portraiture gave me an invaluable foundation in both the creative and business sides of photography. From there, I expanded my expertise through professional training in the wedding industry. Weddings taught me to anticipate moments before they happen, work confidently under pressure, and capture the little details that often become the most meaningful memories. Today, my work combines everything I’ve learned throughout my journey: the discipline of film photography, the connection of portraiture, the storytelling of weddings, the energy of sports, and the unique perspective that comes from photographing from above. Whether I’m capturing a family milestone, a once-in-a-lifetime wedding moment or an athlete in motion, my goal is always the same—to create images that make people stop, feel something, and remember the moment. Photography has taken me from a high school darkroom to portrait studios, wedding venues, athletic fields, and the skies above them—and I’m still chasing the next great shot. Because after all these years, I’m still just as excited to see what happens when I press the shutter button.
